It was so strange to read the account of Nate Saint piloting his single engine Piper bush plane into Equidor and landing on a tiny strip of ground that had been hacked out of the jungle so he could deliver medicine to a sick tribe--an account I read while travelling at over 700 miles per hour at 38,000 ft from Denver to London. The face of missions has changed in many ways, but it's still all about loving the one person in front of you.
It's so good to be on the red African soil in Johannesburg. Tomorrow we fly to Pemba, Mozambique.

Preparations
We are counting the days until we leave for Africa. Today it is 21 days!! We feel like we have more to prepare than the amount of time we have. We have been amazed at the number of missionaries going to Iris ministries. They will learn in Mozambique and then head all over the world.
Many have asked what we will be doing. In the mornings, we will be learning from many world missionaries as well as the language (portuguese). In the afternoons, we will get to know our Moziquen friends, laundry, studying, taking Iris kids to the beach, or shopping. In the evenings, there are small group meetings or worship or movies.
We will be there through the summer...Aug.20 is our planned returned date. Our own kids will be with us most of the time. In August, we have asked to go on a family mission trip in Mozambique.
Please pray:
details in the packing
Visas to be returned soon correctly
travel
physically, mentally, spiritually
Thank you,
God Bless you and we appreciate you a lot.
